Celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in Bedale

On Thursday 2nd June Bedale joins communities around the country in lighting a ceremonial beacon in honour of the Queen's 70 years on the throne. At 9.35pm on the balcony at St Gregory's Church a piper will play "Diu Regnare", followed at 9.40pm by the bugle call "Majesty" and at 9.45pm by the lighting of the beacon.

On Saturday 4th June there is a civic service at St Gregory's.

Then on Sunday 5th June the Town Council, and surrounding parishes, host a FAMILY FUN AFTERNOON from 12 noon til 5pm in Bedale Park. Bring a picnic and enjoy entertainment by Bedale High School pupils, music from the Bedale Band and Chris Pritchard, a children's entertainer with Punch & Judy, balloon modelling and magic tricks, and a small funfair for all to enjoy.
