Maintaining Bedale

For those not familiar with local parish boundaries please note that the Parish of Bedale ends at Bedale Beck. Aiskew and Leeming Bar Parish Council is responsible for maintaining the public open spaces to the east of the Beck.

Bedale Town Council works with the residents of Bedale and our contractors to ensure that the town is kept looking its best. The Town Council is responsible for maintaining some areas of the town, while other areas are maintained by Hambleton District Council, North Yorkshire County Council, and private landowners.

Bedale Litter Busters

Bedale is a beautifully kept town - however from time to time some people do drop litter. Bedale Litter Busters are a group of friendly local people who meet up regularly through the year to socialise and to pick up litter from around the town, more recently also looking after floral displays outside Market Place and North End shops. The Town Council supports the group by providing them with money for new litter picking equipment, flowers and planters, etc. The group are always keen to welcome new members so if you would like more information then please contact them directly through their Facebook page:
