The Town Council discussed the potential re-opening of car boot sales at its June 8th meeting, and agreed that it is not possible to re-open safely in the near future. We received more than 100 opinions from members of the public, which were overwhelmingly opposed to immediate re-opening.
The topic will be on the agenda for the Town Council meeting of August 10th, where councillors will consider again whether to re-open based on changes which may have occurred regarding the COVID-19 situation and government guidelines in the meantime.
The Council agreed that all organisations who have been unable to run a car boot sale this year (i.e. definitely those up to and including 8th August) will be automatically awarded a place on next year's schedule.
