May's Town Council meeting considered the problems at the Bridge Street toilets, and resolved to keep the men's and women's units closed until further notice. The accessible RADAR key unit will remain open, and the public toilets in Bedale Park will be open daily from dawn til dusk.
In making this decision, the Council noted that the toilets need in excess of £3,000 worth of plumbing in order to re-open, that issues with vandalism had not been resolved before they forced the units' closure, and that during five months of closure nobody had commented or complained to the Council.
