The first Council Meeting for 2018 will take place on Monday 15th January 2018. This meeting has been delayed one week from the previously published date as the first of January falls on a Monday and Bedale Town Council meetings generally take place on the second Monday of the month.

Bedale Scout and Guide Group have announced the date for their annual Bedale Festival for 2018. Sunday 17th June 2018 has been chosen for the event which, following a year's rest, is set to return to the Town with a fresh format. The Scout and Guide leaders are planning to widen the Community involvement in the event so as to pull together all that is best in the town. We look forward to hearing what they plan to do over the next months.

Having been only a few miles from the route of the Tour de France "Grand Depart" in 2014, Bedale is now firmly on the 2018 route for the cycle race that arose in its wake. Saturday 5th May will see the cyclists competing in the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire race into the town past Bedale Hall and the imposing tower of St Gregory's Church. The newly formed #BrandBedale business group, Bedale Town Council and the Churches in the town joined together with the Bedale Christmas Festival organisers to get the town's Christmas Celebrations off in style. The opportunity to apply to run a Car Boot Sale in 2018 is over. The names of over 40 organisations have been received by the Town Council. The draw allocating organisations to particular sales will take place in the Ordinary Meeting of Bedale Town Council in January. Organisations that are successful will be notifiied after this meeting.

The Bedale, Aiskew, Leeming Bar and Burrill Joint Burial Board are keen to hear from the families of those who have loved ones buried in the Burial Ground and whose monument or memorial stone may need some attention.
