Bedale Gateway Public Art
Bedale Park in time gone by was a deer park. The discovery of this piece of history has inspired the artists working on the Gateway Public Art project to come up with the concept. The image above is to illustrate what is planned to be installed on the verge next to the new roundabout on the Bedale bypass.
The initial idea was to reate a curlew from galvanised steel however this idea was not universally supported and so a new concept was needed.
The project is being undertaken by Hambleton District Council which has received funding from developers and the Arts Council to install a piece of public art on or near to the roundabout that links the relief road with the A684 near Bedale Hall.
