Bedale Gateway Public Art

Bedale Park in time gone by was a deer park. The discovery of this piece of history has inspired the artists working on the Gateway Public Art project to come up with a new concept. The image above is to illustrate what may be installed on the verge next to the new roundabout on the Bedale bypass.

The initial idea was to reate a curlew from galvanised steel however this idea was not universally supported and so a new concept was needed.

Hambleton District Council has received funding from developers and the Arts Council to install a piece of public art on or near to the roundabout that links the relief road with the A684 near Bedale Hall.
